Air Crew Egress CAD's

These ballistic devices are ACES II ejection seat system (life support) explosive components connected to the Hi-Shear built Analog Recovery Sequencer.

This family of devices contain explosive charges that use a full range of initiation systems – percussion primers, dual electrical bridgewires, linear explosives lines, and hot gas.

Numerous of these CADs have varying pyrotechnic delay functions to accommodate the required sequence of egress conditions. The US Air Force has assigned National Stock Numbers (NSN) to identify these explosive components.

The sequencer typical events are:

• Rocket catapult firing
• Mortar-deployed main chute
• Auto sensing of egress conditions
• Parachute reefing to control opening at all speeds
• Multi-mode operation for optimum recovery of the crewman
