Hi-Shear has produced High Energy Firing Units for more than 40 years. Early applications include the Pershing I, IA, and II, the Trident Launch System, and the NASA standard Exploding Bridgewire (EBW) device. More recent applications are Air Launched Cruise Missile (ALCM), Patriot, and Tomahawk Vertical Launch System. Hi-Shear's high reliability HEFU is currently used with the Titan IV SRMU's for motor ignition and separation.
