HI-SHEAR NAMES GEORGE W. TRAHAN AS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Hi-Shear Technology Corporation (AMEX:HSR), Torrance, CA, today announced that Mr. George W. Trahan has been named Chief Executive Officer and Co-chairman by the Board of Directors. Mr. Trahan is a Director of the Company and served as Executive Vice President from 1993 until his election as President in June 1998.
The appointment was made by the Board upon the retirement of the former CEO Mr. Thomas R. Mooney who said, "George has both the technical background and wide ranging business experience to move Hi-Shear into the future with a new approach. My retirement supports my faith and confidence in his ability to maximize shareholder value." Mr. Mooney will continue to serve on the Board as Co-chairman.
Under Mr. Trahan's direction, Hi-Shear will continue its focus on business growth through new product development, efficiencies in manufacturing, and expanding market share. Mr. Trahan stated, "Our target is profitable growth through the realization of Hi-Shear's great new products and technology. Hi-Shear has made substantial investments in machine tooling and new product designs to achieve its full potential. I look forward to accomplishing this potential."
