The Hi-Shear designed, developed, and fabricated normally open valve is redundantly actuated by our PC23 Initiator [NASA Standard Initiator (NSI) equivalent]. The SV-101 and SV 102 valves are fully qualified for use on the General Dynamics Tomahawk Cruise Missile. The valve assembly is comprised of five major components: PC23 initiator assemblies (2), trigger assemblies (2) and the ported normally-open body. The valve combustion gases are fully contained.
These valves can be either designed in 'normally open' or 'normally closed' configurations.
