Products - Separation Bolts
Hi-Shear SB series separation bolts are designed and manufactured for use in launch vehicles,
missiles, aircraft, and other applications where rapid structure separation is demanded. Hi-Shear
built separation bolts have been fully qualified for fairing separation on the ATLAS and DELTA
launch vehicles. The SB family can be designed to meet specific customer applications and can be
produced from standard commercially available bolt sizes.
Hi-Shear bolts do not fragment, rather, they separate into two parts, one of which is ejected from
the structure.
Hi-Shear PC series Power Cartridges are recommended for use with the
SB series Bolts.
